Welcome to RyuTV! We are currently in the midst of preparations for our official launch in the near future. RyuTV hopes, through interesting video podcast, to be part of the rising podcast revolution over traditional tv. Here in sunny hot Singapore, Mediacorp is the only TV station we have, and like all other monopolies, having absolutely no competition Mediacorp basically puts out crap. While majority of the elderly Singaporeans still watch local TV mainly because they are ignorant of any alternatives, the truth is that for most other Singaporeans, Cable TV and downloaded programmes/TV shows form the basis of our entertainment. We hate Mediacorp so much that we nicknamed the full-of-shit, heavily state-influenced TV station “MediaCork”, basically because it’s just rubbish. Unfortunately the majority of Singaporeans neither know about the existence of podcasts, and even if they do, have little to no understanding of what they are and how they can eventually replace TV as the main visual-based media.At RyuTV, while we are not shameless enough to compare ourselves with the mighty Revision 3, but we really hope to emulate some level of success that Revision 3, Pixelcorp and all the other podcasting pioneers have seen, right here in Singapore. Here’s to a possible new wave of great new programmes from the media we know fondly as the Internet.
